Fluorine Release Film
PET film with a fluorine-based release coating — the liner that releases cleanly from silicone pressure-sensitive adhesives, where standard silicone liners will not let go.
What it is
Silicone pressure-sensitive adhesives bond to almost everything — including the silicone coating on a standard release liner. Silicone against silicone gives a release that is far too tight or unpredictable, so the liner will not peel cleanly, adhesive is pulled away or the part distorts as it is removed.
Fluorine release film solves this with a fluorine-based release coating, typically fluorosilicone, on a PET film carrier. Its very low surface energy lets silicone adhesives release cleanly and consistently, while the film keeps the flatness and dimensional stability needed for precision die-cutting. For acrylic and rubber adhesives, a standard silicone liner remains the right choice.
