Sustainability (ESG) — Solar Installation

On August 2022, we completed our Solar Panel and earthing Installation on our premises rooftop.

As we know, the most commonly known fact about solar energy is that it represents a clean, green source of energy. It also can increase efficacy in providing low carbon energy and solutions such as natural gas and renewable energy. By installing solar panels on roof, other than it is a safe and environmentally-friendly, it is also an easy route to contribute to a sustainable future.

So we decided to make a positive change to our company, not only to ride the energy transition but also want to be one of the organizations involved in achieving the world's goals that yearns for a path towards a more sustainable future.

CO2 Avoidance

As electricity generation from renewable resources displaces the generation of power from conventional fossil fuels, the generation of RE therefore reduces the overall greenhouse gas emissions from the fossil fuel power stations connected to the grid system.

A study by PTM/DANIDA entitled "Study on Grid Connected Electricity Baselines in Malaysia" assessed the overall average emission factor for Malaysia and Sabah to be 0.69kgCO2eq/kWh. This was calculated using a methodology adopted by United Nations Framework Convention for Climate Change (UNFCCC) and the International Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and is based on the combined margin for power generation.
